Fun, friendly gravity-fed DH MTB racing every week at Fernie Alpine Resort!

A different trail each week, great prizes to be won, plus post race beverage at Legends Mountain Eatery. This year's event will include racing for youth (from age 13, adult & master categories.

REGISTRATION: Registrations must be completed online before 5:45 pm on race day. Spots are limited - don't wait to register! Registrations will be taken weekly, opening at 10am on the friday prior to the race. To register, find the appropriate race date on the Fernie Alpine Resort EVENTS CALENDAR.

ENTRY FEE: $8, Lift ticket or season pass required - not included in entry fee. Post race beverage included.

CATEGORIES:

Adult Male & Female (18-39)
Masters Male & Female (40+)
*Category determined by age at first race*

ROUTE: Posted on the Fernie Alpine Resort event listing and  facebook page on the day of each event.

RACE START: 6:30pm with staggered start times.

FORMAT:

  • Racers must check in between 3-6pm on race day to pay the $8 fee and collect their race plate.
  • The race will be on a different bike trail each week.
  • Racers will get one lap down the designated course and are timed via the manual Webscorer App.
  • The course will be open to the public all day, and racers are encouraged to take a practice run as no formal training run will occur.
  • Following the race, competitors can head over to Legend’s and trade in their race plate for a cold beverage to enjoy as times are tabulated.
  • The prize ceremony will follow in the plaza approx. 20-30 min after the last racer has crossed the finish line.
  • Weekly prizes are given out via draw prizes, plus competitors accumulate points at each race, and series champions in each category are crowned at the final race (please note racers must compete in a minimum of 3 races over the season to qualify for the overall standings).

WAIVERS: Must be completed online prior to the event.
