Co-owner and head distiller Jillian Rutherford has an engineering background and is one of the few female distillers in Canada. She established Fernie Distillers in 2016 with husband Andrew and together they operate the artisan facility inspired by the history of Fernie.
Production began with the core spirit: No. 9 Mine Vodka, followed by Prospector Gin and Fernie Fog - an intricate Earl Grey tea infused liqueur with a hint of vanilla and demerara sugar. Each season brings new infusions and limited edition specialty lines. Fernie Distillers produces their own garnishes in house, along with a range of handcrafted bitters. Branded clothing is also available.
