Unravel the ancient arts of spinning, weaving, knitting and felting with textile artists from Fernie and the Kootenays. This new exhibit featuring the work of the Fernie Spinners & Weavers Guild will explore the origins and history of fabric arts.
Curated by local artist Laura Nelson, the exhibit explores a wide range of styles and illustrates the range of talent of guild members. Explore traditional methods of fabric art and discover new methods of upcycling and recycling textiles.
ABOUT THE FERNIE SPINNERS & WEAVERS GUILD
The Fernie Spinners and Weavers Guild was formed to promote fibre arts such as hand spinning, weaving and felting in the Fernie and the East Kootenays. The Guild provides artisans with a cooperative environment for sharing of skills and talents, inspiration, support, encouragement, critiques and friendship and meets regularly at The Arts Station.
