Explore newer neighbourhoods with historian interpreters.
Mountain View is a post-modern neighbourhood and not an area many might consider “heritage”. However, the neighbourhood has a history associated with the airport that once occupied this area, was developed in the 1960s and 1970s as an affordable neighbourhoods for people working in the mines, and residences continue to be upgraded and redeveloped throughout this neighbourhood.
This event is predominately for local residents but all are welcome to join the free tour and learn about the neigbourhoods that Fernie is made of.
Join us on this walk through Mountain View/"The Airport" and share your knowledge of the area and what characteristics of this neighbourhood you feel are important to retain for the future.
Meet at the corner of Mt. Minton Street and Park Avenue.
