Learn how to paint with watercolours created from unwanted invasive plants pulled within the City of Fernie!

In this two hour eco-friendly educational course, the harmful effects of invasive plants will be discussed, while creating beautiful paintings using the pigments extracted from them. Participants will learn best practices for harvesting noxious weeds along with a simple step-by-step process of how to make plant-based watercolour paints.

All materials will be provided, participants are welcome to bring their own if desired.

All ages and skill levels - everyone is welcome.

Course fee: $35 per person.



Workshops at the Arts Station

The Arts Station offers dedicated adult and children workshop throughout the year. Classes and workshops vary in duration and may be one-off events featuring a visiting artist, drop in series, scheduled weekly event, weekend camp or other format. Past and current events include feltmaking, pottery, painting, drawing, graffiti art, drama, creative writing, lantern building, crafts, encaustic art, jewellery making, sculpture, film-making, and much much more!
