Remembering a legend with iconic hikes and a celebration dinner at Island Lake Lodge.
Heiko Socher arrived in Fernie in 1966 and immediately began working to improve Fernie Snow Valley as a ski destination. His passion for forestry and trailbuilding spilled over into the surrounding mountains and culminated in the spectacular trail connecting Hartley Lake Road to Island Lake Lodge. In celebration of Heiko's legacy, the trail will be officially named Heiko's Trail this summer. Join friends, family and the Fernie community to celebrate the life and achievements of one of Fernie's most popular figures on a special day of hiking and dining.
