Curator's Statement
With the planning and development of the new Fernie Skatepark, I want to put together a multi-artist show that features different styles of visual art on recycled skate decks. For decades skateboarding has brought together a diverse community of people and I want the show to reflect that through various aesthetics. Skateboarding has informed and been informed by counter-culture movements from punk music, hip-hop, street art, and more.
