This special weekend is brought to you at the Arts Station in partnership with the Fernie Women’s Centre.

- The weekend will be a dry event with mocktails available.
- Programs include a mix of free and paid events. If payment presents a barrier, subsidies are available — please reach out.
- Located on the Arts Station's main accessible floor. Please indicate any accommodations you may need when registering, and staff will do their best to support you.
- Spaces limited, registration required - click the links below for registration details. Registration opens January 31st.
- Babysitting services may be arranged for adult-only programs. Advise at registration if you require this support.

FRIDAY, MARCH 7TH
- International Women's Day Portrait Exhibit: Iconic Women
- Opening Reception: 7pm
- All ages welcome
- This vibrant exhibit showcases works from artists of diverse backgrounds, all united by a common theme: honouring iconic women and advocating for gender equality. This exhibit features an array of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, photography, textiles, and mixed media. Each piece reflects the unique perspectives of artists from various backgrounds, all united in honouring iconic women and advocating for gender equality.

- Night 1 & Night 2 will feature different programs
- A special edition of Spotlights to celebrate International Women's day featuring local female performers! Bring your friends for a fun evening. All funds raised will go to supporting the Fernie Women's Resource Centre causes in the Elk Valley. There are also options to add a donation when you register or on the night.
SATURDAY, MARCH 8TH
- Workshop: Uke 101

- Ever wanted to learn how to play the ukulele? Now’s your chance!
Join musician and artist Anie Radish (she/her) for a fun, interactive, and beginner-friendly two-hour workshop.
- This workshop is designed to make learning music fun and easy - No experience necessary.
- Bring your own ukulele, borrow one from the Ferie Heritage Library or advise when registering if you need one provided.
- Learn basic chords and strumming patterns
- Play a simple song by the end of the session
- Get tips on ukulele care and maintenance
- Workshop: Polymer Clay Earrings with Meggy Makes Clay

- In this fun and hands-on session, you’ll dive into the world of polymer clay and craft your very own pair of unique Bust Earrings from start to finish. No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity!
Meg is known around town as the talented Meggy Makes Clay.
As a special feature, Ariel from Fernie Pharmacy will attend to share valuable insights on women’s health and answer your questions.

- Cleansing Art Session with Jess Bozoky and Pru Harshan

- Exploring the theme of ACCELERATE ACTION through art. This engaging adult workshop will incorporate a variety of playful mediums including magazine collage, watercolor, drawing, and air-dry clay to create a self-portrait that reflects your unique identity and experiences. This workshop invites you to use creativity as a tool for mental wellness. Release stress, spark joy, and connect with your inner self in a supportive space that encourages reflection, experimentation, and healing. Participants are welcome to share their thoughts, experiences, and feelings with peers if they feel comfortable, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.
